Welcome to Mountlake Terrace!

Named for our views of Mount Rainier and Lake Washington when the city incorporated in 1954, Mountlake Terrace offers our residents a convenient location, great transportation options, recreation, parks, trails, and first-class schools.

A Letter to the Community, June 2, 2020

In light of national events and protests in 2020, the City of Mountlake Terrace shared this letter to our community.

Mountlake Terrace is a friendly and welcoming community with a diverse population of 21,980 residents. Explore our city and join a local group, attend a volunteer event, or find an activity to experience the richness our community offers!  Mountlake Terrace is just a short drive or bus ride halfway between the major employment centers of Seattle and Everett along the I-5 corridor.

Our popular Recreation Pavilion has an indoor swimming pool and lazy river and our community has nine neighborhood parks, three sports complexes, and 14 sports fields. Lakeview Trail connects the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center to the regional Interurban Trail and the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center at Ballinger Park.

And, we're just five miles from Puget Sound and within 100 miles of six national parks and forests. A beach and dock at Lake Ballinger allows fishing, quiet boating, and waterfront play.

Everyone is welcome in Mountlake Terrace so come to a meeting or event and get to know your neighbors and our community!
