How would a hearing examiner be selected?
If the proposed Ordinance is adopted, the City Manager would put forth a search for qualified candidates. The search would include a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process. Responses to the RFQ would be evaluated and the strongest candidates would be interviewed. The City Council would then select the preferred candidate(s) by majority vote.
